Debriefing is the deliberate process of unpacking and processing your past field experiences with a facilitator for the purpose of understanding your story in a holistic and life-giving way so that you can transition well into whatever is next. Debriefing is not a substitute for counseling, clinical care, spiritual direction, or coaching, but may serve as an entry point into these avenues for growth and/or healing.

This retreat is for you if you are a cross-cultural worker in any season of life or ministry. We recommend time away to rest and reflect as a regular rhythm of spiritual health and vitality for you and your family members. It’s an investment in the long-term health and effectiveness of you, your family, your team, and the people you serve.

If you cancel within 30 days of the event, 50% of your total registration will be refunded. If you cancel with less than 30 days notice, there is no refund in order to defray expenses incurred by Train for the hotel reservation.

If for some reason TRAIN International cancels or changes the event in such a way that you are no longer able to attend, your entire registration will be refunded.

Yes, children of all ages are welcome! We will provide childcare for the smallest participants and facililated activities and games for elementary age and teens curated exactly for them. This is available during all of the sessions so parents are able to fully engage. Lunches and evenings are parent supervised.

Yes! The cost includes 5 nights stay and full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) each day for all members of your family. (Exceptions: Arrival day: dinner Monday evening & Departure day: breakfast Saturday morning)

The first day we will start with an opening session in the evening, but otherwise sessions typically run from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a long lunch break. Throughout the day you will engage in groups, take breaks, have time to connect with other participants and trainers, and time for personal reflection. The last day is free to leave you time for travel arrangements and checking out of the venue.

There are several routes that will get you to the Castle.

Klagenfurt Airport (KLU) is the closest airport, an hour drive from Schloss Heroldeck Castle by car. It is also a small airport that may not have itineraries available from your location. From Klagenfurt Airport, you can also use the train/bus system:

1. Take Line 4 bus directly to Klagenfurt Main Train Station

2. Take the S-Bahn Line S1 from Annabichl to the main station.

To access the S-Bahn, you will need to walk approximately 7 minutes from the airport terminal to the Annabichl train stop. The walking route is straightforward and well-marked.

Direct trains are available from Klagenfurt Main Train Station to Spittal-Millstätter See. The train ride takes approximately 1 hour.

Munich (MUC) 3 and a half hour drive

Each of these airports also has excellent train connections to Spittal-Millstättersee, the nearest train station to Schloss Heroldeck.

From Spittal-Millstättersee, attendees can reach the venue by:

Taxi – Available at the station. 20 min

Bus – Limited service to Millstatt (check schedules in advance). 40 min

Since bus schedules are limited, we recommend checking in advance or arranging taxis to ensure smooth travel.
